This swing bridge crosses the Fox River in Central Green Bay, near its mouth with Lake Michigan and I-43.
Built in 1923 to replace a combination truss, the bridge features a pair of Warren Though Truss spans which are formed to make the swing span. These each contain four panels and riveted connections.
On either side, a series of trestle approaches complete the structure. The majority of substructures on the bridge are made of wood; however the central swing pier is made of concrete.
The bridge appears to be in relatively good condition. It opens and closes regularly to allow the port city of Green Bay to receive marine traffic.
The author has ranked this bridge as being moderately significant, due to the increasingly rare nature of swing bridges in this region.
